Last year we published a draft Transgender Inclusion Toolkit and Guidance document for schools for consultation.
Following a careful review of the consultation responses, a revised version of the toolkit was approved by the Council’s Cabinet on 25 January.
The final trans inclusion toolkit and report considered by Cabinet can be viewed under the useful links section on this page.
The responses to the consultation and the revised toolkit were also considered by the Council’s Learning and Culture Scrutiny Committee before being referred to Cabinet for final determination.
This guidance forms part of a wider suite of documents produced by our education department to support schools with issues such as bullying and inclusion.
We understand the Welsh Government are working on producing a set of national guidelines to support pupils and schools with transgender inclusion matters, once this guidance has been published we will look to adopt this document as appropriate.
Thank you for taking the time to respond to the consultation and share your views with us.
