Why are we asking you to complete the Speak Out Survey?
Speaking out or 'whistleblowing' has a positive impact on the organisation, protecting the Council's finances and reputation, while keeping colleagues and customers safe.
After launching the Speak Out Hub and accompanying promotional campaign last year, we asked staff to complete a survey in order to measure their awareness of the whistleblowing policy and procedure, and willingness to speak out. We also asked staff to suggest what would help them better understand the policy.
We listened!
In line with this feedback, the policy has been updated and we have enhanced the Speak Out hub and this year’s campaign to include a ‘policy on a page’, summary animation, and the development of an iDev module is in the pipeline.
It's important that the contents of the Council's whistleblowing policy and the way that it is communicated is regularly reviewed. This year's survey has been designed to highlight common themes and identify areas for improvement to ensure that the Council’s whistleblowing policy continues to protect the organisations finances and reputation while keeping our colleagues and customers safe.
