Caldy Close Green Survey

Vale Homes is working with the local community to create a Cleaner, Greener, Healthier and More Connected neighbourhood.

In February 2026, we carried out a consultation with local residents about the large green space at Caldy Close. During the consultation, we explained that, in the previous year alone, it cost approximately £2,640 to clear debris left from the bonfire. We also highlighted that the bonfire often takes place without official permission or appropriate safety management and may involve the burning of toxic waste.

During the consultation, a number of residents expressed an interest in making better use of the green space along Caldy Close. In addition, the local primary school consulted with some of its pupils, who said they would like to see an equipped play area.

The Council has since identified funding that may be available to help develop the green space. We are now keen to undertake a more detailed consultation with residents to:

understand how we can work together to develop the green space
identify the community's priorities for the space
estimate how much funding will be needed; and
explore ways of securing any additional funding required.
