The Story so Far
The Creative Communities team are leading the Placemaking activity on behalf of the Vale of Glamorgan Council. Meetings between the Creative Communities team and Barry Town Council began in April of this year.
We’ve been meeting on a regular basis to develop our joint approach to Placemaking in Barry. We’ve agreed which community events we need to attend and have agreed a strategy to make sure that as many residents of Barry as possible have the chance to share their views about what it’s like to live in Barry and their ideas about what changes could be made to make Barry a sustainable town for the future.
So far we’ve attended the St David’s Day celebrations in King’s Square, Bark in the Park and Barry Pride. We’ve also been out and about talking to residents across the town and we’ve reached out to Sports and Community Groups.
