The Knap Community Skatepark

Thanks to funding from the Richard Taylor Memorial Fund and Sport Wales, we have secured a contract to build a new skatepark at Cold Knap.

The old park was built as a tribute to local skater and skier, Richard Taylor.

Extensive consultation has taken place with the local skate community and additional funding has been secured to enhance the design of the new freeform concrete skatepark.

Whilst we haven’t been able to incorporate all the requests made during the consultation, the new design will cater for everybody, and offers challenging transfer lines for the more advance riders.

Now that the final design has been agreed, Bendcrete are anticipated to begin construction on site late in April and the design will take around 14 weeks to build.

With thanks to Sport Wales, the Richard Taylor Memorial Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund and all those who've given their time, donated or shared their views as part of the consultation.
