About the project
The Council’s Placemaking Team has been speaking with local people about what they would like to see improved in the town.
One of the biggest messages we heard was that there aren’t enough good places for teenagers and young people to be active, have fun, and feel safe.
Bear Field, next to the Leisure Centre, came up again and again as a space with lots of potential.
At the moment, the area has older skate ramps, a MUGA, and a playing field, but many people said it could be more exciting, more modern, and better connected to the rest of the town.
Using the ideas we gathered from the community, we have put together an initial design for upgrading the skatepark.
The upgrade is being funded by Section 106 developer contributions from nearby housing developments in Cowbridge and grant funding from Sports Wales.
We want to hear from you
Wheelscape have provided some initial skatepark designs.
This survey is about checking whether we’ve got it right and whether there are any tweaks or changes you think we should make before anything is built.
We’d like to know what you like, what you don’t, and if there’s anything important we might have missed.
Whether you use the skatepark all the time, only sometimes, or might visit in the future, your opinion matters and we want to hear from you!
We will also be engaging directly with school pupils in the area.
